Humanity Insanity

Humans, for a million years, lived within balance with nature and never took more then they could consume.  However, at some point we figured out that we could consume as much as we wanted but nothing full-filled our wants or in other words our desires.  These desires consumed us and caused us to break away from the rest of the natural world and caused a delusion that we are not of this world and some how above it. 

However, we are as to the world as an apple is to a tree and one cannot exist without the other.  Or to perhaps better say we are the fruit of the earth and yet we've taken all of this into believing that our pathetic little existence is some how more then it really is.  We feel that the universe cares about every one of us as though it needs us.  Does the apple need the tree or the tree need the apple... again we are the apple...?

Unless, there is some where else to go it is literally insane what we are doing to the environment.  The only thing we know that consumes its host until it fully destructs it is a virus of which we share many commonalities with.  Perhaps those bits of viral DNA that is encoded within our DNA has more influence then we presume???  Perhaps that is the root of our desire to explore other worlds.

What is different is the apparent illusion of the self that the egoic mind thrives upon.  It tells us that we are entitled and religion tells us that no matter how bad we rape, pillage and plunder the earth that someone/something will take care of us.  However strongly that mind set is ingrained into our current paradigm of thinking the reality is that 'we' are the caretakers of this planet and if not for all the other wonderful life forms on this planet we have little choice but to find a way for ourselves. 

You would think that the ego infested mind would seek out the best conditions on the planet for its own benefit but apparently it is far easier to hide our head in the sand and hope that the problems will just go away on its own.  Did you know that if all of the people on earth consumed what Americans do we would need five earths?  Ironically, we don't have four to spare and if we don't get within harmony with this earth we will be shed like the infamous bad habit.  Earth Day is a joke as it is not about saving the earth but rather saving ourselves.  The planet has been through much more then we can ever dream of doing to it and lived but the life on the planet suffered.  In fact these times of death spawns an amazing rebirth as happened when dinosaurs where wiped out, from whatever, and the dawn of mammals was born.

We are not immune from such fate and if someone is really looking out for us I wish they would stop watching and get to work.  However, if we have our own individual illusion of the egoic mind it stands to reason that the God, in whatever version, that so many believe in is in reality our collective ego.
